Dániel Szabó, award-winning jazz pianist and composer

Daniel Szabo is a jazz pianist and composer based in Los Angeles and Budapest, whose music blends jazz, classical, folk, and contemporary improvisation. His acclaimed recordings feature artists such as Peter Erskine, Chris Potter, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and John Patitucci, while his symphonic album Visionary topped the American JAZZIZ chart. An award-winning pianist and composer, he has received the ASCAP Composer Award and won major international jazz piano competitions in Paris and Montreux. Daniel Szabo performs internationally as a soloist and with various ensembles, and currently teaches at the Jazz and Improvisation Department of Anton Bruckner University in Linz.

He is joined by an outstanding group of jazz musicians: Tamás Zsári, a Budapest-born saxophonist, graduate of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, former member of the Budapest Jazz Orchestra and founding member of the Modern Art Orchestra, who has performed with artists including Bob Mintzer, Peter Erskine, and Dave Liebman; Bart De Nolf, a Bruges-born double bassist, longtime member of the BRT Jazz Orchestra and collaborator of Toots Thielemans; and Bruno Castellucci, an acclaimed drummer who has performed internationally since the 1960s and was also a member of the BRT Jazz Orchestra and Toots Thielemans’ quartet.
