Spin a Spell: Clay Cauldrons — BYOB Pottery Class in Chicago

No experience needed. Bring a drink and a friend.

Over 90 minutes, an instructor walks you through it start to finish — centering the clay, opening it up, pulling the walls, and shaping the little belly and rim that make a cauldron look like a cauldron. Black porcelain does most of the atmospheric work for you.

Finished size is around a 14 oz cup. Big enough for candy, small enough to keep on a shelf year-round. One cauldron per person.

## Taking your cauldron home

You take your cauldron home the same day, unfired. It'll be fragile and not food-safe, but it's yours and it's real, and plenty of people are happy to stop there.

If you'd like it fired, leave it with us:

* **Bisque firing — $10.** Hardens the piece so it lasts. Not food-safe.
* **Glazing and firing — $20.** Glossy, food-safe, holds candy or anything else.

**Pickup is three weeks after your class, during open studio hours.** We won't call or text you — just come by. Current hours are pinned to our Instagram.

## Before you come

**Where we are**
1142 W 18th St, Chicago — next to Bobijoa Korean Kitchen, across from Chicago Tattoo. Google Maps sometimes still shows our old address, so go by this one.

Street parking only, paid and limited. Give yourself extra time, or take transit or a rideshare.

**Timing**
Class starts 10 minutes after the time listed on your ticket. Arrive more than 30 minutes late and we can't seat you.

Need a different date? We can move your booking for $15 per ticket. Registration is otherwise final — no refunds.

**What to wear**
Wheel throwing is messy. Wear something you don't mind getting clay on, or bring a shirt to throw over it. We provide cloth aprons, and disposable ones are $1 at check-in (cash, Zelle, or CashApp).

**Good to know**
This is a public group class, not a private session, so it's a lively room. We'll do our best to seat you with the people you came with. Want one-on-one time instead? Ask us about private lessons.
