•	Starter 2-3 yr old tropical / indoor bonsai (ficus, parrot beak, schefflera, or others)
•	Choice of a locally made ceramic pot from Ancient Art Bonsai or plastic pot

What are the care demands of indoor bonsai after the workshop?

Accepted Answer

Most indoor bonsai suitable for wiring should be watered ~2x/week, or daily if outside in summer. Other succulents are also available which can survive on as infrequent water as 1x/month, but these are more brittle for wiring.

What is the focus of this workshop - what will I learn?

Accepted Answer

This workshop is focused on tropical woody(flexible) bonsai (moderately beginner friendly). You will learn about basics of indoor bonsai care, watering, lighting, and hands-on skills for repotting and clip and grow pruning. Special focus will be given on how to bend branches and trunks with WIRE.

What is the total price? Are there any hidden fees?

Accepted Answer

The Eventbrite fee is absorbed into the sticker price, so the listed price is the only total price. There are no hidden fees!

What is the Columbus Bonsai Society membership?

Accepted Answer

CBS is a local nonprofit dedicated to teaching, sharing, and community surrounding the art of bonsai in Columbus. For over 50 years we have hosted monthly educational bonsai workshops, lectures, sales, and an annual show. Membership to CBS is also donated to our workshop participants.

What is the Central Ohio Cactus and Succulent Society membership?

Accepted Answer

COCSS is a local nonprofit dedicated to people who enjoy cacti and succulents! Some species we will have available in this workshop to use for bonsai are succulents, hence they are another great resource with their monthly events and annual show! Membership to COCSS is donated to our participants.

What drinks does Casa Cacao specialize in? What can my drink ticket cover?

Accepted Answer

Nocterra Brewing Co has a wide variety of beers specializing in IPAs and Lagers, They also have have a few sours, stouts, canned wines, and a hard seltzer for the gluten free folks. Your drink ticket will cover 1 drink worth $9 or less (most things). Or can be applied to discount flights/cocktails.

What drinks does Casa Cacao specialize in? What can my drink ticket cover?

Accepted Answer

Casa Cacao's drink menu includes a variety of creative coffees, matchas, kombuchas, and more. As the name suggests, they specialize in cacao-infused drinks. They also serve gluten/vegan free baked goods and acai sorbet but these are not included in the workshop price.

Is there an age restriction on this event?

Accepted Answer

This event is open to all ages as long as you would trust them with scissors and if they are accompanied and supervised! Casa Cacao is a family-friendly and even dog-friendly establishment.

What is your refund policy?

Accepted Answer

Refunds can be issued in full (except for Eventbrite's fees) prior to 7 days of the event. Within 0-7 days, only a 50% refund can be given. Alternatively, we can save the supplies for you and meet up separately!
