What is the language of this event?

Is í an Gaeilge teanga an turais seo.  This guided three to four hour tour is in the Irish language and participants are expected to have a basic knowledge of Irish. When needed, occasional English translations will be provided.

Can I bring my own car?

To ensure comfort for everyone, spaces on this tour are limited to 25 persons. It is a bus tour, so you are urged to park your car in Claregalway. We are meeting in the car park at the rear of The Arches Hotel. The bus will leave The Arches at 11am so please get there on time.

How long will the tour last?

Jim describes this as a half-day tour. However, we want it to be interactive, with contributions from participants and conversation 'as Gaeilge' about Galway's role in the 1916 Easter Rising. We will be taking in seven sites in East Galway which featured prominently in the Easter Rising.

Tá fáilte roimh páistí. Children are welcome as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. Remember that, while the tour is free, you need to book a ticket and places are limited to 25.

While the tour is FREE, you must book a ticket on this page. If your plans change, and you cannot make the trip on July 18, please cancel your ticket here on Eventrbite in order to free your place up for someone else. We expect this tour to sell  out!
