The Traveling Teahouse: A Fantastical Tea Tasting

As part of Occoquan's Swords, Brooms & Magical Beasts Festival, Open Window Events invites you to discover The Traveling Teahouse—a magical teahouse said to appear wherever wonder is needed most.

For one enchanted afternoon, Mamie Davis Park will be transformed into a whimsical garden where travelers from every corner of the realms are welcomed to gather. Whether you hail from enchanted forests, soaring mountain kingdoms, hidden fae courts, or bustling magical cities, a seat awaits you at our table.

Upon your arrival, you'll be welcomed by one of our Lorekeepers—caretakers of the Traveling Teahouse and collectors of magical teas, forgotten recipes, and stories from across the realms. Your Lorekeeper will guide your table through an immersive tasting experience, introducing each tea's unique origin and sharing the legends that accompany every brew.

Enjoy a thoughtfully curated flight of exceptional teas from our friends at Leaf & Petal, each inspired by a different fantastical realm and paired with handcrafted local chocolates and delightful delicacies. Along the journey, your Lorekeeper will lead your table through a few playful magical activities, inviting you to become part of the story rather than simply observe it.

Before or after your tasting, wander the enchanted gardens, challenge your companions to whimsical lawn games, relax among the flowers, or capture memories beneath our custom fantasy photo installation nestled among the roses.

Guests are encouraged to arrive as their magical selves. Fae, elves, witches, wizards, knights, dragon riders, beast tamers, adventurers, scholars, and magical creatures of every kind are welcome within the walls of the Traveling Teahouse.

For those wishing to preserve a bit of magic, professional fantasy portrait sessions will also be available as an optional add-on. Our photographer will capture timeless images in the enchanted garden for $65.

The Traveling Teahouse appears only briefly before continuing its journey to another realm.
