Born and raised in San Jose, California, Lucy is a public school teacher who has fulfilled her dream of the ultimate travel goal: visiting every country in the world.
She got hooked on points and miles two decades ago, using them to fund her global humanitarian efforts and stretch her modest teacher’s salary.
With a deep love for Geography and World History, even as a young child Lucy developed a desire for travel, though she did not get her first passport until she was 23 years old. With 3 months of school holidays per year to explore the world, she spent many summers teaching and volunteering abroad, and finding creative ways to afford international travel on a budget.
She entered Syria in May 2023, becoming one of the first women to visit every country. In addition, she has run a marathon in all 50 states and all 7 continents.
Lucy gives talks all over the world, sharing her insight on juggling time, resources, and money in order to live a balanced and successful life: To her, that means excelling not only in travel, but in maintaining a career, family, physical fitness, and spiritual purpose.
