The Bayard Rustin LGBTQ+ Resource Center is setting the table — and you're invited.
October 9, 2026. The Bank in Akron. An evening of dinner, community, and a keynote address by Kelley Robinson, President of the Human Rights Campaign.
Bayard Rustin organized the 1963 March on Washington. He trained Martin Luther King Jr. in nonviolent resistance. He was also a gay Black man — and because of that, he was often excluded from the tables he helped build. This table is named for him deliberately. It's a seat at the table for everyone who has ever been told to step back from one.
Bayard's Table is the center's flagship fundraiser. The money raised here goes directly into the work: walk-in testing, mental health referrals, a 340B pharmacy partnership, drop-in hours, and a physical space that keeps showing up for LGBTQ+ people in Akron.
Kelley Robinson doesn't need an introduction. What she brings to this table is a reminder that local work and national movement aren't separate things.
