outtaSPEC!

outtaSPEC! is a live event collective built for the sounds that exist outside the expected – underground, leftfield, and boundary-pushing music brought together in spaces to initiate connection, movement, and discovery.

Headed up by Nullsleep and Deadski, the group embodies an approach informed by their varied backgrounds, combining more than twenty years of experience in the NYC underground with a lifelong knowledge of Tucson.

We’re creating a home for the outsiders, the dancers, the selectors, the hardware heads, and anyone looking for something a little different. Bringing an oldschool perspective that breaks down hierarchies and centers the music for a new generation.

No formulas. No limits. Just sound, energy, and community.

DEADSKI is a Tucson-born Mexican musician and producer blending electronic music, breaks, bass, hip hop, Latin rhythms, and sounds pulled from memories. Somewhere between a jungle record and taking acid at the swap meet.

NULLSLEEP employs obsolete hardware and a DIY ethos to produce lo-tek hi-nrg music – mutating and intersecting jungle, footwork, acid, chiptune, and gabber. He is the founder of 8bitpeoples, a netlabel focused on music made with early computers and videogame consoles in a deliberate rejection of planned obsolescence.

MIKEY POBLANO is a DJ and producer from St. Louis, but now calls Phoenix home. Mikey got their start performing at bars & venues throughout Tucson. Mikey Poblano's sonic holy trinity consists of Chicago's house icons: Honey Dijon, Derrick Carter & DJ Heather. Mikey currently co-hosts a monthly vinyl residency called House Party. Midwestern grooves meet the Southwestern heat!
