Overview

This workshop will share different supervision approaches for meeting the needs of supervisor, setting and the intern.

Supervision is a critical role for the student, and often leaves a lasting impact on their future social work practice. This workshop will share different supervision approaches for meeting the needs of supervisor, setting, and the intern. It can be difficult to balance day to day tasks, learning opportunities, and professional development, but achieving this is essential for preparing the intern for practice. Examples will be discussed, and strategies for engagement and development of the intern will be shared.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will:

  • identify 2-3 supervision approaches.
  • identify their own professional strengths and needs, as well as potential limitations of the practice setting, as it relates to supervision.
  • engage in problem solving by sharing examples of situations when the supervisor and intern need to be flexible.

This workshop is designed for current practitioners and supervisors.

The workshop will be in person at Nazareth University (Clock Tower 2) AND virtually. Zoom link will be shared on 9/9/26 to participants registered. 2 CEUs available for LMSW/LCSW, LCAT, and LMHC professionals.
