A reading and interactive writing workshop at Sparkle Bookstore exploring family stories, hidden histories, and the narratives we inherit—and reshape. Through a brief reading, guided prompts, and optional sharing, participants will be invited to write from memory, fragments, and imagination in a welcoming, community-centered space. Open to writers of all levels.

Suzanne Uttaro Samuels is the author of the award-winning historical novel Seeds of the Pomegranate (Sibylline Press, 2025), winner of the Goethe Historical Fiction Award and finalist for the Somerset Book Award and Tucson Festival of Books Literary Awards. Her fiction and essays appear in Feisty Deeds: Historical Fictions of Daring Women, Feisty Deeds II: Batches and Brews, Petigru Review, and other literary journals. A former lawyer and professor, she writes the Substack Persephone’s Story and is currently working on her second historical novel, The Orphans' Wheel.
