Workshop Description:

Please join us for our very first slab ceramics workshop brought to you by Cafe Alma’s Mandy Talbot!

You will learn to roll out, score, cut, and join clay, creating a unique planter perfect for the summer season! This is a beginner-friendly handbuilding class. All glazing and kiln firing will be done for you, to be picked up by each participant separately. This is included in the price.

July Workshop Series: Decorative Arts Atelier

Learn three forms of decorative art making with SCRAP this July, hosted at Cafe Alma! SCRAP-ify your bags and wardrobes with upcycled keychain making hosted by artist and trinket aficionado, Star Lahey-Buckley, on July 17th. We’re so excited to offer our first slab ceramics class on July 18th with Mandy of Queen Bee Ceramics, where we’ll be building planters for summer gardens. We’ll close out the month learning how to make crochet baskets using upcycled textiles with upcycling queen Joanne Wang on July 30th. Can’t wait to see you there!


Ticket Cost: Please note we are note offerings sliding scale for tickets for this event!


All ages welcome. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.

About the Artist:

Mandy Talbot is a ceramicist and studio manager of the San Francisco Clayer's Club, Bayview's public access pottery studio at Cafe Alma. She also runs her own bespoke ceramics company, Queen Bee Ceramics. Follow @queen_bee_ceramics to see more of her work!
