Join Us for Table Songs 2026!

Experience a feast for the senses at Table Songs 2026! This isn't just dinner—it’s an immersive, high-energy musical long-table experience coming to Vancouver. Imagine sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with fellow food and music lovers as three incredible cultural ensembles take turns leading the room in soul-stirring a capella harmonies and vibrant instrumentals, bringing centuries-old feasting and singing traditions roaring to life around one massive table.

Featuring

Georgian polyphony with Ori Shalva (aka the Makharashvili Family) (Toronto) with the Rhythm & Roots Georgian Ensemble (Vancouver)

Headlining the Georgian tradition at the festival is Ori Shalva, Canada’s foremost Georgian polyphonic vocal ensemble. Led by the virtuoso singer and multi-instrumentalist Shalva Makharashvili, this group delivers the haunting power of one of the world's oldest and most complex vocal traditions. Their multi-part harmonies are the very heartbeat of the Georgian Supra, weaving intricate melodies and deep acoustic textures that will resonate across the long table and leave the room spellbound. https://musicampto.com/2019/03/04/orishalva/

Vancouver’s Rhythm & Roots Georgian Ensemble is directed by the renowned local choir leader Karla Mundy. Driven by a deep passion for a grounded musical exploration, this ensemble brings the beauty of Georgian polyphony straight to the long table. From soaring, complex multi-part harmonies to intense, rhythmic chants, their performance channels the true spirit of the Georgian Supra (feast), where song, food, and community are inextricably linked. https://rhythmandroots.ca/

English/Canadian folksong with Princeton Porch Party

The Princeton Porch Party ensemble—led by the legendary Jon Bartlett and Rika Ruebsaat—brings together a stellar crew of vocalists from across the Pacific Northwest. Together, they will fill the hall with the booming, rhythmic drive of English sea shanties, historic pub songs, and gritty folk ballads. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KDDJWtN0Ns

Hungarian & Transylvanian village song & dance with Forrás Banda (Vancouver/Seattle)

The Forrás Banda ensemble (from Vancouver and Seattle) will transport you straight to the villages of Hungary and Transylvania. Watch the room ignite as peasant folk music is unleashed on violins, violas, double-bass, and the cimbalom—a unique hammered dulcimer that anchors the region's unmistakable acoustic sound. Hungarian guest dancers and singers joined Forrás Banda in traditional “Asztali Nóták” (table songs).
