What does it mean to physically preserve our histories?In this next session, we will shift from exploring archives in the digital world to understanding the importance of preserving and documenting the physical items that hold our memories.For this session, feel free to bring photographs, recipes, letters, or any physical documents you would like to begin incorporating into your personal archive. We will start with an overview of physical archiving—the histories, practices, and definitions that have shaped the practice—to help guide us as we learn how to build and manage our own physical archives.Each participant will receive an archiving kit to support their learning and help them continue this work beyond the session.
