In this class, we focus on:

• Building confidence and relaxation on the dance floor
• Staying aware of your partner and the space around you
• Creating fluid, natural conversations through your body
• Exploring your own style and adding your personal sabor (flavor)
• Cultivate and build community

This is about enjoying the music, connecting with others, and dancing freely — not about getting every move "right."

Intermediate level required: you should already be comfortable with basic cumbia footwork and foundational turns.

Dance & Music Style

A range of cumbia styles with a strong Mexico City (CDMX) Cumbia Sonidera influence: playful, rhythmic, and rooted in social dance culture.

Teaching Style

Warm, inclusive, and body-aware. Classes emphasize observation, repetition, and connection, supporting each student in developing their natural rhythm, expression, and confidence in social dancing.
