How to Taste Cider - A Guided Journey into the World of Cider

How to Taste Cider - A Guided Journey into the World of Cider

Overview

Join us at the South Hill Cider tasting room for a guided workshop on how to taste (and enjoy!) cider like a professional on August 9th, 202

Our resident Certified Pommelier Daniel James will begin with an overview of the main structural components of cider: acid, sugar, tannin, and alcohol, as well as the process of fermentation and production which transforms apples into the contents of your glass.

Following that we’ll take a deep dive into two of South Hill’s ciders that are made in different styles, where you’ll learn how all the components we discussed come together and shape what you see, smell, and taste as you enjoy a cider.

We’ll finish off the session with a cider pour of your choice along with a snack plate where you can either practice what you learned in your included 33 Books Cider Tasting Journal, or enjoy a well earned study break!
