Cyanotype Printing with Botanicals with artist Rachel Farley
Part of the Visiting Artist Series collection
Overview
Beautiful printmaking process that uses sunshine and creativity! Create unique botanical images on fabric and paper!
Cyanotype is a process that utilizes UV to create prints on both paper and fabric. In this class, we will be using locally sourced plants and botanicals to create a negative image. We will cover how to coat paper or fabric with the sensitizer solution and how to expose the prints for a beautiful, whimsical printed design. Students will be provided with all necessary solutions, botanicals for printing, paper, and pieces of fabric. Students may bring articles of clothing to print on, as well!
