Summer Seagrass Sleuths is family-friendly summer program offered by the Pensacola and Perdido Bays Estuary Program and is focused on getting folks in the water to see what critters are living amongst the seagrass beds in our estuaries. Our staff will help you run a seine net and go through all the critters that we catch! Please note, this is not a drop off event and parents/guardians must stay with their kids. ITEMS TO BRING:Please wear clothes that can get wet and water shoes, and bring a towel, change of clothes, water bottle, and sun protection with you. TIME / LOCATION:Please order a free ticket for the time slot that works best for you. Each time slot is an hour in length and will cover seining and critter identification.Available Time Slots:9:00am - 10:00am10:15am - 11:15am11:30am - 12:30pm Location: Navarre ParkParking can fill up quickly on weekends during the summer; please allow for time to find parking and check in.REGISTRATIONYou only need to register children that will be actively participating in the program. Children 2 and under do not need to be registered. There is no age requirement to participate, but small children may not be tall enough to run the seine net . They will still have plenty of opportunity to participate using hand nets.There will be no life guard on duty at the park - swim at your own risk.ADDITIONAL DETAILS WILL BE SENT TO REGISTERED ATTENDEES 1-2 DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT.
