Montgomery County Health and Human Services Dept. and Safe Kids Southeastern PA will be hosting a free car seat check on September 2, 2026.

Car Seat Checks

Schedule a free appointment with our team of certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians to make sure your children are riding safely. All caregivers of children riding in car seats and booster seats are encouraged to attend. Registration is required.

Car seat checks at the Montgomery Hose Fire Company will occur on the first Wednesday of every month. All checks will be posted on Eventbrite for appointment sign-ups.

Schedule an appointment with our team of certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians to make sure your children are riding safely.These appointments are one-on-one and in-person with a certified technician. Please come prepared to engage with the technician throughout the entire appointment. This is an educational fitting station, not an installation service.Please make sure to attempt installing the car seat yourself prior to arrival. Bring the car seat manual and vehicle owner's manual with you to your appointment.Car seat checks are free of charge. All parents and caregivers of young children riding in car seats or booster seats are encouraged to attend. Registration is required. All questions and concerns can be directed to carseat@montgomerycountypa.gov.NOTE: Stop by our educational table before or after your scheduled car seat check to learn the basics of infant and child CPR and choking response, and find out about free CPR classes offered by the county. Extra caregivers are also welcome to participate while the car seat check is underway!
