Garcia Center for the Arts is  home to creatives, makers, art leaders, educators, and art organizations. Our center has expanded to include art studios in ceramics, printmaking, and glassblowing. Our center houses a stage and sound system, a store front called Mercado 536 and a community garden with acceess to community plots and comunal farming.

Ceramic Workshops

Hands-on ceramics classes and workshops at The Garcia Center for the Arts. Create, shape, and fire your own clay masterpieces—join us!

Make the incense burner of your dreams! we will be making forms that support stick and cone incense. (with amount of clay provided) Clay dries naturally with the air, no need for a kiln! Clay will return to its natural state if moistened.  Works will be taken home at the end of the session. Painting will not be provided.  All Ages Welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Date: Saturday July 17, 2026Time: 2PM to 5PMLocation: The Garcia Center for the ArtsThis workshop is beginner friendly, no prior experience necessary. The instructor will demonstrate how to build a form with clay to create a three dimensional form, then we will use the slab roller to create ¼” to ½” thick slabs to demonstrate examples on how to use slabs in sculpture or functional wares.
