Infinite Legacy is hosting a FREE Donation Resource Specialist (DRS) Training Program. We are offering a total of 7.5 continuing education nursing contact hours for nurses who attend the full-day training, and up to 7.5 CME credits to physicians based on their participation time.
This in-person course is designed to educate healthcare professionals (physicians, fellows, residents and nurses) in critical care settings on best practices in the organ, eye and tissue donation process. Upon completion, attendees will fully understand the clinical triggers for referral, how medical suitability is established, how to partner for an effective donation conversation and how to protect and preserve a family’s donation options.
Objectives:
- Recognize the best practices in organ, eye and tissue donation
- Apply the steps necessary for donor evaluation
- Determine the two pathways to donation: Donation after Brain Death and Donation after Circulatory Death
- Identify the steps in the donor management process
- Evaluate process changes the attendee can take back to the hospital
