Join us for an immersive 3-day horsemanship experience designed to strengthen the connection between horse and rider through better communication, understanding, and practical skills both on the ground and under saddle.
Whether you are a seasoned rider or just beginning your horsemanship journey, this event will help you develop a deeper understanding of how horses think, communicate, and learn. Through a combination of classes/presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on clinics, you'll explore the foundations of effective horsemanship—including Connection, Communication, Control, and Confidence—and learn how to apply these principles to create a willing, responsive, and confident equine partner.
Participants will gain valuable tools through clinics on Collaborative Groundwork, Cooperative Riding, refining the pre-ride check, and learning to "speak horse." You'll leave with practical exercises and a clearer understanding of how to build trust, improve responsiveness, and create a more enjoyable and successful partnership with your horse.
Ride-along participants and auditors are welcome. Auditors will enjoy all classes/presentations, demonstrations, and learning opportunities without bringing a horse.
To make the experience even more enjoyable, special accommodation packages are available, allowing you to stay on-site and fully immerse yourself in a weekend of learning, connection, and horsemanship.

Clinic Pricing Structure:
- Working Horse Staying On Property (Lodging sold separately) $175
- Working Horse Ship-In (Saturday & Sunday) $275
- Weekend Auditor (Includes Friday Dinner, and all Saturday & Sunday programming) $150
- Daily Auditor Saturday or Sunday $50

A meet-n-Greet experience for everyone who may be enjoying time in the saddle. We will cover what to expect on the trail, some basic safety tips and Tales from the Trail and life at Black Prong. This can also be a Q&A for folks to ask questions about the various experiences offered. Open to everyone.

Saturday Clinic: Refining the Pre-Ride Check
This experience is a two-hour clinic* that helps the Horse/human team develop a solid pre-ride check that engages the horse's body while enhancing the connection and communication shared in order to have a more enjoyable ride. This will introduce both Collaborative Groundwork and Cooperative Riding exercises. All levels of horse/human teams are encouraged to participate.
