Registrations are closed
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Seeds of Caring. This event is full. Spots do sometimes open up when families cancel their registration. Check back periodically and follow us on Facebook where we will post announcements when spots open up for various events. We will also be adding new events on the 1st and 15th of each month, with the occasional last-minute event posted in between.
In Person: Kids in the Kitchen
Learn about food insecurity and balanced meals, then pack lunches that help local kids stay nourished.
Who this In Person Event is for:
Ages 4-12. Adult caregivers are required to accompany child participants. Siblings of participants outside this age range are welcome but may find the event less meaningful and fulfilling.
What you’ll be doing: Join Seeds of Caring for a meaningful event in partnership with The Lunchbox Ohio, an organization working to increase access to nutritious meals for children in our community.
Kids and their grown-ups will explore what it means to experience food insecurity, especially during the summer months when school-based meals may not be available. Through age-appropriate conversation and activities, participants will gain an understanding of how balanced meals help bodies grow strong and feel their best. Families will then assemble lunches that will be shared with children in our community.
Specific instructions:
All supplies will be provided. This event may involve food items such as peanuts or other common allergens; please take appropriate precautions if your family has food allergies.
Why you'll be asked to pay a supply fee and donate:
On the next page, you'll be asked to pay a fee to offset supply costs for this event. These fees are non-refundable. If you have to cancel your registration later, please know that your fee will go toward our efforts to create more meaningful service-focused programs for kids.
Every time we're able to design, coordinate, and offer an opportunity for kids to give back, it's with the help of supporters like you. Please consider making a generous gift to help us continue to empower kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds.
We never want supply fees to prevent someone from participating in a Seeds of Caring project. If you would like assistance covering your supply fees, please email programs@seedsofcaring.org and we will register you for free, no questions asked.
