Join 60+ musicians, improvisers, and sound artists for an unforgettable immersive concert experience. Featuring the Regenerate! Orchestra and special guests Virago, this evening will mark the world premiere of Countless Millions—a large-scale work that surrounds audiences with layers of sound, inviting them to move freely through the music and experience the orchestra from the inside.

Countless Millions is a "requiem for all of us," considering the finite scale of the human experience and the ways death shapes and gives meaning to life. Inspired by Sacred Harp singing and American folk music, the piece unfolds through a series of joyful choral numbers, spoken-word poetry, choreography, and live art, with participants creating a large-scale paper sculpture during the performance.

The Detroit Regenerative Orchestra, formerly the Regenerate! Orchestra, is one of the region's most exciting new music groups, coming together a few times each year to create unforgettable events centered on shared creativity and human connection. For this performance, the orchestra will be joined by Virago, an improvising quartet, for the premiere of Countless Millions.

Why have we raised our ticket prices?

Over the past eight years, this orchestra has grown from a ragtag group of about 10 performers into one of the largest ensembles in the area. We run a large portion of our operations off ticket sales, and the price reflects what it costs to keep this group running and continue delivering really good shows.

We hope you feel the experience is worth what we're charging for it. At the same time, we never want ticket price to be a barrier to someone attending one of our performances, and we do have a limited number of discounted tickets available for members of the community upon request.
