The Birthday Bash: Honoring 50 Years of Impact is a semi‑formal black‑and‑gold celebration marking Community Assistance Council’s five decades of service in South Kansas City. This milestone evening brings together community members, partners, volunteers, and supporters for a night that blends history, humor, storytelling, and purpose.

For fifty years, CAC has stood beside South Kansas City families through moments of crisis, transition, and transformation. This celebration honors that remarkable journey—a legacy built on resilience, compassion, and community strength—while looking ahead to the future we are building together.

The centerpiece of the evening is a live roast honoring John Sharp and Alvin Brooks, two leaders whose stories, humor, and impact have shaped CAC’s evolution. Through lighthearted storytelling and shared memories, the roast highlights the resilience, leadership, and community spirit that have defined CAC since 1976.

Guests will enjoy curated music, food and drinks, and full access to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, creating an elevated yet welcoming atmosphere that reflects both celebration and community pride. The evening also includes opportunities to connect with community leaders, partners, and advocates who believe in a stronger, more empowered Kansas City.

This event is designed to reposition CAC as a collaborative, mission‑driven, trauma‑responsive, and community‑centered organization. It showcases CAC’s evolution from an emergency assistance provider to a stabilizing force that empowers families with resilience, life skills, and long‑term support. The Birthday Bash is not only a celebration of the past—it is a launch point for the next 50 years of impact.
