Mission Escambe Archaeology Tour with the University of West Florida
Join us for a fascinating tour of Mission Escambe archaeology with UWF archaeologists and students!
Join us for an exciting exploration of the 18th-century Spanish Mission San Joseph de Escambe with UWF archaeologist Dr. John Worth and his 2026 archaeology field school students. During this one-hour walking tour, participants will discover the incredible mission history of Northwest Florida, get a glimpse into a real archaeological excavation, and learn more about our recent discoveries as they happen!
This short tour will last one hour and be facilitated by UWF archaeologists. This tour is most appropriate for individuals over 12 years old; those under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Terrain at the Mission Escambe site is uneven and rugged. Participants are encouraged to bring water, wear appropriate shoes, and dress for an outdoor tour in summer. Bringing and using bug spray is also highly recommended.
Spots are limited; RSVP today via Eventbrite so that you don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind opportunity!
Tour participants will meet at 6698 Fairground Rd, Molino, FL, 32577. As this tour will be held on private property, we ask that participants be respectful of their surroundings.
