Shakespeare in the Trash
Shakespeare. In a trash yard.

See now the stately Elizabethan grace turn wondrously foul. Expect garments plucked from the heap, a stage of mere refuse, and a grand, chaotic brawl of absolute rubbish. Open wide thy mind to the notion that one man’s dross is but another’s desperate, edgy stab at timeless drama!
The Order of the Revels
- The Bound of Time: The pageant shall endure for ninety minutes, without respite.
- Food and Drink: Thou art heartily welcome to bring thy own meats and mead. Should thy belly rumble, the grand chariot of spice, El Alhambre, and the bountiful Rainbow Grocery sit just across the way.
- Seating: We shall provide seats for a hundred souls. Yet, shouldst thou wish to ensure thy comfort, bring forth thy own chairs and woolen blankets.
- A Warning on the Elements: Our theater lies beneath the heavens. The night air biteth shrewdly, so don thy thickest layers!
- One Bathroom: But a single chamber of easement shall be found within the gates.
We right eagerly await thy presence!

Your Friends' Basement Theater Company is an informal arrangement of theater-loving friends based in San Francisco. It began in 2023 when ten friends (half of whom had never acted before) wrote and performed an original musical one night only to a crowd of over 50 people crammed into an SF co-op basement. It was so much fun that half the audience wanted to audition for the next play. Our cast & crew are entirely made up of friends, word-of-mouth acquaintances, and people who attended previous productions and thought: “Maybe I could do that!”
SOMA West Community Benefit District is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization formed in 2020 dedicated to improving the quality of life in SOMA West by creating a cleaner, safer and more vibrant neighborhood for all. It provides supplemental services such as cleaning, safety, beautification, marketing, and advocacy beyond what the City provides. These services aim to enhance the quality of life, business activity, and safety in the area.
