Discover the art of Floating Ink with Martinez-sensei at the Japanese Culture Center!
Are you ready to explore additional paper marbling designs?
This two-hour workshop will introduce the use of powdered moss (carageenan) as a water additive. Pigments are floated on a liquid surface with the tip of a
brush resulting in colorful, interesting patterns. Variation in designs will be
demonstrated. Techniques include stencil application, paper tinting,
exploring various inks and the use of a wetting agent (resist).
Beginners are welcomed. Students will increase their confidence and
knowledge of contemporary paper marbling and leave with at least ten
9x12 unique images.
All supplies included. Limit 15 people.
