June 20th 9:00am - 10:30am PST/ 12-1:30pm ET / 6 -7:30pm CESTIt will be recorded------------------------------ Pre-requisite - Introduction or know the names of strokes, how to play them, how to play simple patterns, how to play recited patterns. ------------------------------ Ancient cultures followed the path of the sun across the sky, of where and when the sun rose and when and where it set. Leading up to the solstice we have earlier dawns and later sunsets. Solstice comes from the Latin words sol, meaning Sun and sistere, meaning to come to a stop or stand still. The earth orbits on a tilt. At the solstice, the angle between the Sun’s rays and the plane of the Earth’s equator (called declination) appears to stand still. June 21st will be the longest day of the year. Celebrate the beauty, abundance and illumination the light of sun has brought in out lives. Since ancient times it's been celebrated around the world. We'll drum in a honor of this solar cycle. We'll sing, and vocalize. We'll play both hand frame drums and frame drums with mallets. We'll sing 2 sun chants. We'll do call and response singing into the drum We'll honor the drum We'll honor the elements Everything an offering Bring hand played frame drum, frame drum with a mallet, intentions, paper, pen and beverage Candle and intentions ------------------------------------- Registration Sliding scale $15 -$25 -------------------------------------- Important.
