by Rowan Quarry

lunch break
14.30- 17:00 CI warm up into jam
optional 17- 19 Sauna
Enter this magical place near Eastville Park where a natural spring invites you to an initial meditation to connect to the land and engage an intimate life -centric practice in nature. Led by Rowan Quarry, a meditation and yoga teacher, who has spent many years tuning with the spring and the land to support his own growth and development. The attention and spaciousness we gain will allow us to sync ourselves with nature as nature; a process of becoming and letting go. Following on, Laura will lead a body work CI session that moves between the dance space, grassy grounds and the woods to nurture connections that open up a dance where the ground, air and sky can support and hold you and receive you as part fo their own.
Then we will have some pot luck lunch which is followed by a warm up into jamming and if you want to stay for a sauna, please do!
Laura's body work to land links experiential anatomy with the landscape we are in, informing natural and developmental patterns to support the way we interact, meet and dance together body to land to body. Laura has a long standing CI practice (teaching across France, Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Turkey, Sweden, Norway and the UK) which has been shaped greatly over the past 3 years by working outdoors in natural habitats and community settings that weave the social, physical and environmental body. Her CI practice involves the body as land and the land as body. It is a sense making of collectivity that expands the otherwise social focus of CI for a more wholesome and ecologically inclusive view of togetherness.
More information about Laura is on her website of Exit Map, a community dance company she formed and is co-director of: https://www.exitmap.org/laura-doehler
