Islander is a Greenville, South Carolina rock band known for blending alternative metal, nu-metal, post-hardcore, punk energy, and hard rock into a sound that is both aggressive and emotionally charged. Formed in 2011, the band broke through with releases like Pains., Violence & Destruction, and Power Under Control, earning attention for their explosive live shows and standout tracks like “Coconut Dracula,” which reached Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart.

Led by vocalist Mikey Carvajal, Islander has built a loyal following through relentless touring and a message-driven approach that connects heavy music with themes of struggle, hope, identity, and resilience. Their music has drawn comparisons to acts like Deftones, Korn, P.O.D., Glassjaw, and Rage Against The Machine, while still carving out its own raw and unpredictable lane.

Over the years, Islander has toured with and shared stages alongside major acts including Korn, Stone Sour, Papa Roach, P.O.D., Seether, Suicide Silence, Babymetal, Nothing More, and more, while also appearing at major rock festivals such as Welcome to Rockville, Carolina Rebellion, Rock on the Range, and ShipRocked.

With multiple full-length albums—including It’s Not Easy Being Human and their 2024 fan-funded release Grammy Nominated—Islander continues to push forward as a passionate, high-energy force in modern heavy rock.
