Painting and Nervous System Regulation
Discover the two-way relationship between creativity and nervous system regulation through painting, curiosity, and presence.
Workshop Description
In this workshop, we'll explore the relationship between creativity and the nervous system. We'll discuss how our bodies respond to stress, why it can be difficult to access curiosity and imagination when we're overwhelmed, and how simple practices can help us reconnect with creative flow.
Using painting and other accessible exercises, participants will experiment with creativity and it's relationship to the nervous system. No artistic experience is necessary! We will use practice and creative flow to learn the language of the nervous system by engaging our senses during the creative process.
Together, we'll explore nervous system basics, grounding practices, and the role curiosity, play, and creative expression can have in supporting regulation and well-being.
Whether you consider yourself an artist or someone who is "not that creative," this workshop offers an opportunity to experience creativity as a resource for everyday life.
