Price: $45 includes flowers, lei-making materials, and hands-on instruction.Learn to make a Ti Leaf Lei (lei lāʻi) with San Diego lei maker Stacy Atkinson. To make a ti leaf lei, two stripped or cut pieces of Ti are twisted together to form a rope.The sacred Ti plant was first introduced to Hawaiians by the early Polynesians and was once reserved for royalty – the ali’i. While Lei Lāʻi is historically for men, you see them worn by anyone these days, especially adorned with flowers. You’ll get a pile of plumerias to learn how.Whether you’re a first-time crafter or an experienced lei maker, this class is designed to be relaxed, creative, and enjoyable for all skill levels. Bring your friends or family and enjoy a memorable day of crafting together.Have more fun! Please allow yourself sufficient time to arrive, park, and find a seat, as the event will begin promptly at the scheduled start time.This class is held in an intimate, in-person setting on Atkinson Plumeria Farm in our open, shaded classroom. It is a rain-or-shine event.Note: Cancellations are accepted up to 24 hours before the event. Eventbrite ticket fees will be deducted (around 8%).Details subject to change.
