We're cleaning up Garfield Boulevard for the second year, this time from I-90 going west!!

Buckle up Buttercup, because we're headed SOUTH to the Trashtopia that is Garfield Boulevard for some weekday litter cleaning! All participants will be rewarded with a frozen treat at the end of the event, as a thank you for a job well done. :)Join <a href="https://www.chicagoenvironmentalists.org/cleanupclubchicago" title="https://www.chicagoenvironmentalists.org/cleanupclubchicago" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Cleanup Club</a> in our 6th year of volunteer litter removal. We're proud to say our volunteers have joined us for 120+ CLEANUPS and removed 52,000 LBS OF TRASH from our shared community!Date: Wednesday, June 24thTime: Cleanup is from 5:30 - 7:00 PM. If you can't get there by 5:30, that's okay! We will have a supply station set up so latecomers can still join.Cleanup Location: We will be meeting in the parking lot at 148 W Garfield Boulevard.Social Outing: We will provide free popsicles for all volunteers at the end of the event.Supplies &amp; What To Bring: We will provide grabbers, bags, and gloves. There will be some recycling buckets for everyone, but you are welcome to bring your own if you like. We also encourage BYO pet food or pet litter bags for reuse if you have them at home!How to Get There: As we are an environmental organization, we strongly encourage taking public transit, walking, biking or carpooling to the event if possible. The meeting point is close to the Garfield red and green line stops.Suggested Donation: Cleanup Club Chicago has 501c3 nonprofit status through the Illinois Environmental Council. If you like our work and want to help us tackle Chicago's litter pollution problem, any donation is greatly appreciated! We humbly suggest a $10 donation per attendee to cover our costs and to support future cleanup events.To fully register for the event, we will need your first name, last name, email address, and answers to both of our custom questions. If you're bringing a guest, we will need this information for each of them as well. If your registration is incomplete, it may be canceled. Thank you in advance! __________________________________________________________________________________________________Please note the following cleanup rules:Safety First: Wear durable, appropriate footwear that you don't mind getting dirty. If you find any items that present a biohazard, such as needles, please leave them, as we don't want anything poking through a bag and injuring someone. We also recommend avoiding broken glass. Do not do anything that you feel uncomfortable with or that puts you in danger.Kids and Dogs: The minimum age for participation is 8 years old, and ANYONE UNDER 18 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT CHAPERONE (OVER 18). You are responsible for you and your child's safety. Additionally, we ask that you do not bring your dogs to cleanups.Photograph and Video Waiver: Photographs and videos are taken at the cleanups and include participants. They are typically used on social media, but may also be used for marketing or promotional purposes. If you do not wish to have photo/video taken of you, then you are responsible for letting the leaders of each individual cleanup know and we will do our best to avoid taking photos and video with you in it. We cannot guarantee that you will not be in the background of any photos or video. Therefore, all participants must consent that any photographs or video taken of them or their minor, purposefully or inadvertently, can be used on social media and/or for marketing and promotional purposes by the Cleanup Club or any affiliated groups.Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk: You are completely responsible for your own safety - please pay attention at all times and avoid any areas or items that are hazardous. By participating in any of the Cleanup Club events and/or allowing a minor (under the age of 18) to participate for which you have legal responsibility as a parent or guardian, YOU ARE HEREBY VOLUNTARILY CONSENTING TO SUCH PARTICIPATION, and on behalf of yourself, your heirs, assigns, and next of kin, RELEASING AND HOLDING HARMLESS the Cleanup Club or any affiliated organizations and its administrators, members, agents, employees, associated personnel, other participants, sponsors, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“RELEASEES”), from any and all claims, demands, losses, and liability arising out of or related to any ILLNESS, INJURY, DISABILITY OR DEATH, THEFT, OR LOSS you may suffer, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.Cancellation Policy: If for any reason you decide you cannot attend this event after signing up, PLEASE cancel your registration.
