Embodied Mindfulness: A Somatic Approach to Meditation

Embodied Mindfulness: A Somatic Approach to Meditation

Online event
Overview

Enjoy Your Breath - Rest in Your Center - Relax Your Attention with this Innovative Practice

In a world that pulls us up into our heads, EMBODIED MINDFULNESS offers a way home: a daily somatic sitting practice that helps the body settle and the mind rest. This easily repeatable approach uses breath, vocalization, self-contact, and subtle movement to quiet mental noise and cultivate grounded presence.

By giving the body cues for simple action, the mind naturally relaxes into stillness. The movement of full-bodied breathing supports your structure in sitting with comfort and ease, dissipating the white noise of tension and distress.

This is an introduction to the practice of Embodied Mindfulness. The session consists of a brief introduction, two guided experiences - 360 degree breathing and variations, and a Q&A at the conclusion.

Embodied Mindfulness has been developed by Jamie McHugh over the past 25 years to make the practice of meditation accessible to modern bodies. Experienced and people new to mindfulness are welcome to enjoy this session.
