La Terraza 2026
La Terraza, the Cultural Office’s annual summer party, returns for a 6th edition, with live music, spanish food, drinks and much more.
Celebrated at the Spanish Cultural Center in Washington, D.C., La Terraza 2026 is a unique cultural experience that takes place every June as the closing event of SPAIN arts & culture’s cultural season. This year, the event will celebrate the conclusion of the 2025–2026 programming season and the arrival of summer with live music, exhibitions, cultural activities, food and drinks, and many more surprises!
As part of this new edition of La Terraza, we will also inaugurate Portraits: 12 Lives, 12 Journeys, a project that pays tribute to twelve Spanish figures from the 20th and 21st centuries—artists, scientists, performers, and creators. The exhibition reflects on the cultural relationship between Spain and the United States and highlights the rich exchanges and dialogue that have shaped both countries.
La Terraza would not be complete without live music! This year’s edition will feature performances by Spanish artists Magalí Sare and Sebastià Gris.
Join us for this annual celebration of Spanish culture, featuring live performances, art exhibitions, gastronomic experiences, and interactive activities. In addition, this year’s edition will commemorate the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, with a special focus on the historical and cultural ties between Spain and the United States.
Magalí Sare & Sebastià Gris
Magalí Sare is a Catalan singer-songwriter celebrated for her remarkable versatility and expressive voice. Blending influences from jazz, pop, folk, and contemporary music, she has established herself as one of the most distinctive artists of her generation. Since her solo debut in 2018 with Cançons d’amor i dimonis, Sare has built an acclaimed career through innovative projects and collaborations. Highlights include A Boy & A Girl with guitarist Sebastià Gris, which received international awards, and her ongoing partnership with double bassist Manel Fortià, with whom she has performed extensively on international stages. In 2026, she presents Descasada, her third solo album, a feminist-inspired work that reimagines songs from different eras and cultures to explore women’s experiences, freedom, and self-determination. Her music combines artistic curiosity, emotional depth, and a unique ability to bridge tradition and innovation.
Sebastià Gris (Manacor, 1994) studied jazz and modern music performance at the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona. It was there that he met musicians
such as Magalí Sare, with whom he recorded his first work, A boy and a girl (Microscopi, 2020). He has collaborated with renowned musicians such as Salvador Sobral and Sílvia Pérez Cruz, with whom he recorded and toured their latest duo album, Sílvia i Salvador (Warner, 2025). In addition, he has recorded two solo guitar albums: Llorer, clau i canyella (Microscopi, 2021) and Oli, all i juliverd (Microscopi, 2023).
