Halloween Camp with Girl Scouts of Japan

Celebrate the spooky season with Girl Scouts of Japan and USA Girl Scouts Overseas at Halloween Camp held at Aikawa Fureai-no-mura.

Girl Scout Brownies through Ambassadors will spend the weekend making new friends, sharing each other’s cultures, and enjoying fall in Kanagawa Prefecture.

Community Expectations

USAGSO Girl Scouts and volunteers plan and lead the Halloween themed programming at Halloween Camp on Sunday to share American culture with Girl Scouts of Japan. Each overseas community is responsible for working together to plan activities - past activities have included crafts, games, team building activities, and a chance to show off costumes and Halloween spirit!

Each overseas community will need to ensure that enough registered and background checked adult volunteers are registered to attend Halloween Camp to meet adult to girl ratios.

Volunteer Expectations

As this is an overnight event, all volunteers will need to be registered Girl Scout volunteers and have an active background check on file. If you are unsure of your background check status or need support completing a background check, please reach out to overseascustomercare@girlscouts.org

Girls attending Halloween Camp are split into groups (called patrols) by program level and age. This is an opportunity for girls to make new friends from other overseas communities and with Japanese Girl Scouts.

All volunteers attending Halloween Camp will serve as Patrol Leaders, meaning you will help Girl Scouts in your group with activities, meal times, and bed time. Your role is essential to ensuring that Girl Scouts feel comfortable and have a great time at Halloween Camp. Thank you!

There will be two mandatory volunteer meetings prior to Halloween Camp to support with activity planning and event expectations. Zoom links will be shared after event registration.

Saturday, November 14

10:30 AM - Arrive at Halloween Camp

11:00 AM - 1:00 PM - Halloween Camp Check-In, Orientation, & Safety Brief

1:00 PM - 3:00 PM - Lunch, patrol ice breakers, & settle in cabins

3:00 PM - 5:00 PM - Activities led by Girl Scouts of Japan

5:30 PM - Dinner

7:00 PM - Free time, pop-up shops, evening activities

9:00 PM - Lights out

Sunday, November 15

7:00 AM - Breakfast

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Halloween activities led by USA Girl Scouts Overseas communities

12:30 PM - Closing Ceremony

1:00 PM - End of Halloween Camp!
