Overview

Sunday afternoon performances begin at 2 p.m.

Best known as a trumpeter, composer, and co-leader of the BT ALC Big Band, Alex Lee-Clark recently released a live record with Fred Wesley, the legendary trombonist and musical director for James Brown and Parliament Funkadelic. He's also shared the stage with a wide range of artists including Soulive, BJ Thomas, The Chad Hollister Band, and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.

On Sunday, Aug. 16, Alex will bring The 8tet, a group he's released two albums with, Live at the Lily Pad and The Big Lebowski Suite. A third album, On The Record, is set to be released this summer. Where the BT ALC Big Band is nearly a circus-sized funk spectacle, The 8tet is a smaller, nimble group, weaving through 50s jazz, 60s pop and soul, 90s alternative, or wherever else they need to go to tell a musical story. No matter where they end up, you'll be guaranteed to enjoy the ride.
