Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Training - Las Vegas (7632E)

Course Objective: Participants will build on their Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training in this 5-day workshop featuring simulations, case studies, and participant-led discussions. Through this workshop, they will develop skills that empower them to lead change initiatives at their organizations through implementing statistical process control, leading the execution of various strategic planning tools and methods, and instituting time and money-saving processes.

Green Belt certification is a mandatory prerequisite.

Course description: Project-based curriculum that leverages the use of simulations, case studies, and participant interactions for the most effective learning experience. Participants learn and practice the skills necessary to implement statistical process control (SPC), facilitate and use various strategic planning tools and methods, optimize machine up-time rates, alleviate organizational bottlenecks, calculate various financial metrics, and develop their ability to lead change initiatives in any organization.

There is a total of 30 workshop hours with an additional 10-15 hours of reading, study, and homework to be completed before the course and during the instructional week (see homework schedule). Participants will be required to lead discussions. The workshop will culminate in a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification exam(requires 75% or better for passing marks).

Course Strategy: Five consecutive days of hands-on learning.

Day 1: Organizational structures, KPIs, team facilitation, and organizational change management

Day 2: Total quality management, statistical process control, and strategic planning

Day 3: Theory of constraints, project management, TPM, and Shingo style process mapping

Day 4: DFSS, QFD, seven quality tools, culture of quality, and gap analysis

Day 5: Benchmarking, systems thinking, and certification exam
