Coming Out Storytime

Coming Out for most queer/LGBTQ people is one of the most powerful moments of our lives. It is the moment that usually comes after a long time of soul-searching and coming to terms with owning and accepting who we are. And for many the decision to share our truth with the world, our families and our friends can be terrifying, exhilarating, dangerous, liberating, painful, joyful, even funny and it can be all of these things.

Even today being queer in this world remains for some radical and dangerous. Some of us are accepted fully, some of us discarded by families, thrown out of our homes, churches, etc. Some are welcomed with open arms.

But for sure Coming Out is an act of courage that transforms one’s life and the lives of those we love.
