Join us for some colorful fun as we team up to create an awesome community mural together!

RIVERSIDE PARK COMMUNITY MURAL PAINTINGThe 2026 Community Mural is a public engagement project intended to involve artists and community members in together designing and producing the next mural in Vinton. All community members ages 14 and over are invited to help paint. All skill levels are welcome- you can work on whichever design elements you are most comfortable with. All supplies and guidance will be provided.The mural is entitled, "Riverside Park, Past and Present", and is shown on two model sketches (see header photos). Based on historical information, the left half of the mural (Panels 1 and 2) imagines how the area may have looked around 1911, when "Warner Park" was established (named after the gentleman who sold the land to the city). The right half of the mural (Panels 3 and 4) includes some of the current playground equipment at Riverside Park, along with a few activities one might see there today.If you are a member of the Art Guild, you should sign up for "VGFA Membership Entry" tickets. If you are not, you should sign up for "Nonmembership-Community Entry".Panels 1 and 2 (1911-left half of the mural) will be completed on June 13 and June 20, with a backup date of June 27, if needed.Panels 3 and 4 (present day-right half) will be completed on June 15 and June 22, with a backup date of June 29.Keep in mind the mural may be done before the backup dates are needed.There are a very limited number of spots, which will no doubt fill up fast. If you find the session(s) you want are full, feel free to let us know of your interest (email vintonartguild@gmail.com) and we'll make sure you have the opportunity to help out with the next project.
