2027 Howard University African Studies International Conference

The Howard University African Studies International Conference is set for February 12 - 13, 2027, under the theme: "AI and Transformation in Global Africa."

The Department of African Studies at Howard University, in partnership with the Faculty of Law, University of the Free State, is hosting the 2027 Howard University African Studies International Conference, to be held at Howard University 12–13 February 2027. The conference theme, “AI and Transformation in Global Africa,” will examine how artificial intelligence is shaping, challenging, and transforming African societies and African diasporic communities. As AI technologies increasingly influence all aspects of our lives, this conference seeks to center African and African diaspora perspectives in these global conversations.
