Yes! This event requires a ticket. You do not need to print off your tickets - we will check you in electronically.

What time should I show up?

This event is open house style, so you can show up anytime between 9:00-10:30 pm. Christy Bills will be giving a firefly talk around 9:20 pm.

Is it guaranteed that we see fireflies?

Accepted Answer

No - their activity depends on weather, temperature, moisture, and timing. However, participants will still enjoy a special after-dark experience at Swaner Preserve and learn from firefly expert Christy Bills about Utah’s fascinating fireflies and ongoing research efforts.

We usually start seeing fireflies on the Preserve between 9:30-10:00 pm.
