Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) trainingprepares registered nurses to provide specialized medical and forensic care to sexual assault survivors. It is a 40-Hour NYSDOH approved training, you must attend the entire course which runs July 25th, 26th, August 1st, & 2nd from 8am to 6pm. You must attend all 4 days in order to receive certificate.
Curriculum: Covers forensic photography, anatomy, STI risk evaluation, documentation, and managing strangulation injuries.
Clinical Skills: Includes hands-on training with high-fidelity mannequins and forensic kits to practice pelvic exams and evidence collection.
Trauma-Informed Care: Focuses on patient-centered communication to reduce re-traumatization during exams.
