About the show:
A nurturer. A devotee. A warrior.
A woman is often defined by the roles she is expected to embody but can she exist beyond them?
Nāri explores the many facets of womanhood through the lens of Bharatanatyam, delving into the strength, vulnerability, grace, desire, surrender, and complexity that shape the feminine spirit. A celebration of the feminine in all its beauty, power, and…contradictions.
About Krithi:
Krithi is an active, passionate dancer from the Boston area, who always endeavors to tell a personal narrative through her choreography and performance. She started Bharatnatyam learning from Smt Neena Gulati and then furthered her training with Smt Jothi Raghavan in the Boston area. She’s currently learning Kathak from Smt. Nikkita Banawalikar of Mumbai. She credits classical dance to be the foundation of her skill.
Krithi has performed Bharatnatyam extensively locally and in India since a very young age, even appearing on Doordarshan Chandana TV in Bangalore. She has participated in many group stage productions by her guru Jothi Raghavan, notably acting as ‘Rukmini’ in Srimad Bhagavatham.
She enjoys creative production and choreographs dance videos rooted in her training for her YouTube channel, dancinkritz. She additionally explores different dance styles such as bhangra, garba, heels, contemporary, Bollyjazz, and Bollywood and enjoys teaching as well. She hopes to keep furthering her training in Bharatnatyam and other forms while pursuing her career.
