Seattle's store for the rocks, gems, and everything for lapidary work.  We love to share our passion for nature and foster creativity and learning. Our staff is friendly and knowledgeable and very excited about the hobby. The shop and classrooms are comfortable and inviting.  There's so much to see, you might find yourself there for a long while.The NW Rockhounds Education Center is powered by Shunpike and can receive tax deductible donations. Shunpike is the 501(c)(3) non-profit agency that provides independent arts groups in Washington State with the services, resources and opportunities they need to forge their own paths to sustainable success. We hope through fundraising efforts, these classes can be offered at minimal cost to grow and nuture the art of rockhounding. Students who withdraw 7 days (or less) prior to the start date of the first class DO NOT receive a refund of any kind.CANCELLATIONS:All classes not meeting their minimum requirement three days prior to class start date may be cancelled. You will learn some unconventional methods for texturing metals while creating unique cuffs in copper or brass.

Level 2 - Textures &amp; Patinas - Embossed Cuff BraceletsInstructor: Christina BengtsonTime: 11:30am - 3:30pmAges: 18 &amp; upPrice: $80 + $25 Kit fee (see bold below)(The PREREQUISITE for this class is Silversmithing Level 1 - Meeet The Butane Torch or prior butane torch experience)In this class students will create highly textured cuff bracelets in copper and brass. These pieces can either be simple and elegant or bold and dramatic. You’ll learn proper annealing and forming techniques and some unconventional ways to texture metal. Class will also cover both subtle and dramatic patinas and sealing methods.- Please Read Below -Check your email a few days before your class for further instructions.This class requires a kit fee (CASH/CHECK). Please come prepared.Our classroom is located upstairs and are limited to 6 students for this class.Masks OptionalYou are purchasing a seat at an event just like a sporting event or concert. These tickets are not transferable to a different class credit or store credit if you are not able to make it. Cancellations made 7 days or more in advance of the event date will receive a refund.
