Argentine Tango 101 with Felipe and Ayano: series of 3 dance classes

Felipe Martinez and Ayano Yoneda are back to teach tango in Berkeley! This is a series of three classes geared towards total beginners and almost-beginners. Tango is an improvisational dance based on connection and communication. Felipe and Ayano teach the fundamental structures that give rise to grace, fluidity, and creativity in social dancing.

These classes are taught using the terms "leaders" and "followers," and are inclusive to queer, trans, and non-binary people.

Wednesdays: June 10th, 17th, and 24th (ticket includes three dates)
6:45 pm: check-in
7:00-8:00 pm beginning tango series
8:00-8:30 pm practica

The practicas are included with the classes. Stay, dance, and ask questions!

This event is currently scheduled for the ballroom on all three dates. There is a possibility that we may be moved to the drawing room.

We are a 10-minute walk from Downtown Berkeley BART. For bike parking, use the bell to enter through the service entrance, and go straight to get to the back courtyard. No parking in the Berkeley City Club lot. Street parking is free after 6:00 pm.

It helps to arrive early on the first date of the series, June 10th.

At 8:30 pm on the same dates, Felipe and Ayano teach the intermediate tango series. The intermediate series is geared towards people who have been dancing tango for about three months (12 tango classes). Tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1990168375184
