Are dogs allowed?

Accepted Answer

Well-behaved dogs are allowed on 6 foot leashes and you must carry poop bags. Since you will both be *driving* and being a *passenger*, consider how your driver might react to your dog.

Question 2

What time do the walks begin?

Accepted Answer

The walks leave at 7:40 or once everyone has arrived, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. Don't be the person we're always waiting for. It is best to get there at 7:30. Plan for traffic and for getting lost.

Is there a limit to how many can attend?

Accepted Answer

It's imperative that you sign up for each segment since each walk is limited to 25 people. Please keep your reservation up to date in case you need to cancel. Email DenverbyFoot@gmail.com or text Lisa at 720-339-8766.

Question 4

Will there be options to make-up a segment?

Accepted Answer

Depending on the need, some arrangements can be made to join a walking leader to make up missed segments.

Question 5

Will I earn a medallion for walking all 71 miles?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The High Line Canal Conservancy is going to provide the famous medallion for all who complete every segment before the end of July.

Question 6

Why do we meet at the end?

Accepted Answer

We walk in a continuous direction and arrange carpooling at each segment to get everyone to the starting point for that segment. After each walk we arrange volunteers to get drivers back to their cars.

Question 7

What is the average pace of the walks?

Accepted Answer

The average pace is 3 miles per hour. We do stop to take breaks, share information, and get the group back together. The High Line Canal Trail is flat, and the surface ranges from street/concrete/asphalt to soft surface/dirt.

What should I bring?

Accepted Answer

It is always good to bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and a hat.
