Seven Grand Whiskey Society: Larceny Single Barrel Opening!

Here we go again! Another barrel has landed! This time, it's a cask strength wheated bourbon from our friends at Heaven Hill!

Old Fitzgerald is an historic brand, dating back to Pre-Prohibition days. In fact, it used to be produced along Pappy Van Winkle at the Stitzel-Weller distillery in Kentucky. That means that of the wheated bourbon brands, pretty much all of them were being made at the same place. When Stitzel-Weller started selling off its brands, Heaven Hill acquired the Old Fitzgerald recipe. They continued Old Fitz as their Bottled-in-Bond line of wheated bourbon, but for the younger-aged wheated bourbons, or for those single barrels that are particularly good, those would come under a new brand, "Larceny."

Back in October, we went out to taste a few barrels out of the over 2 million barrels that Heaven hill has in their inventory. Our favorite is the one that is now on our back shelves ready to enjoy!
