The Porch: The History of Mansfield is a powerful and immersive theatrical production that brings the rich history of Mansfield, Texas to life through storytelling, live performance, music, historical moments, and cutting-edge theatrical technology.

Told through the eyes of two elderly lifelong friends, Thomas and Elijah, audiences are invited to sit on the porch and journey through time as memories unfold before them. From the founding of Mansfield and the arrival of the railroad to the growth of the community, local businesses, schools, and families who helped shape the city, this production celebrates the heart and spirit of Mansfield.

Through humor, emotion, and unforgettable visuals, audiences will experience moments of joy, hardship, resilience, and transformation. Using immersive sound design, dramatic lighting, large-scale projections, and interactive staging, The Porch places the audience directly inside the story—making them feel as though they are witnessing history as it happens.

This production also thoughtfully reflects on historical moments that challenged the community and shaped its future, creating space for conversation, understanding, and healing through the arts.

Presented by Poised Productions and the Poised Institute of Community Theatre (PICT), this production is more than a play—it is a community experience designed to educate, inspire, and connect generations through storytelling.
