Learn intaglio printmaking with Lilla Szekely! Create original hand-pulled prints using copper plates and a press. No experience needed.
Have you ever wondered how artists create richly detailed, hand-crafted prints? This workshop with Lilla Szekely is your chance to find out — no experience necessary. Discover the art of intaglio printmaking, one of the oldest and most expressive printmaking traditions in the world. Using small copper plates, simple tools, and a printing press, learn how to transfer your ideas onto metal and pull finished prints you can take home.
Explore a variety of ways to develop imagery, so whether you come with a sketch in mind or a blank page, you'll find your footing. Walk away with a small collection of your own original prints — variations on the image you created. Feel free to bring any drawings or images that inspire you, but it's not required. All materials are provided, including copper plates, etching tools, rollers, ink, paper, and access to the printing press.
